Melanie Dion
Melanie Dion is a Licensed General Contractor and opened Cardinal Construction 25+ years ago. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management. Cardinal Construction is also 203k certified.
During her construction career, she has built and remodeled homes, built additions, and commercial spaces. She loves building in Santa Cruz County and takes great pleasure helping home owners and business owners build beautiful, useful spaces.

Our Process
Working in the community
Mel Dion is Past President of the Board of Directors for the Builders Exchange of Santa Cruz County. She was on the Board for over four years in various positions, volunteering as Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.
Habitat for Humanity asked Melanie to supervise their project on Rooney Street in Santa Cruz, working with volunteers and the directors to break ground and start construction on four homes to house local families.
